The advantage of acoustic pianos

Sound and resonance
The sound of an acoustic piano is natural and rich, created by hammers striking strings that resonate with the soundboard and the entire body of the instrument. This creates a unique, dynamic and deep timbre that varies depending on how hard the key is pressed and how the entire instrument interacts. Digital pianos reproduce sound through recordings (samples) and speakers, which, although greatly improved, still cannot fully convey the natural vibration and complex sound spectrum of an acoustic instrument.
Playing feel and keyboard mechanics
Acoustic pianos are characterized by natural mechanics and "Hammer action" system, which provides a realistic sense of weight and response. Each key has its own weight and resistance, so playing requires a certain amount of physical strength and precision. This helps pianists develop proper technique, force control, and expressiveness. While many digital pianos have weighted keys that attempt to mimic the feel of an acoustic piano, it is still different from a real, mechanical response.

Expressiveness and dynamics
Acoustic pianos allow the pianist to achieve extraordinary range of expression and dynamics. Volume, tone, and timbre can be subtly controlled by varying the strength and speed of the keystrokes. This allows the performer to convey a wide range of emotions and create nuanced musical compositions. Digital pianos, while having sensitivity settings, often limit this dynamic range.
Durability and longevity (with proper care)
Although acoustic pianos require regular tuning and maintenance, a well-maintained instrument can last for several decades or even longer, while maintaining their value and sound quality. Antique acoustic pianos can even gain collector value. Digital pianos are electronic devices that can become obsolete over time due to technological advances or malfunctions.

Aesthetic value
An acoustic piano is often not only a musical instrument, but also elegant furniture, decorating any interior. Its presence in the room adds uniqueness and classicism.
